God is a God of order, doing things from most important to least, creating the end from the beginning. God created us as spirit FIRST, Gen. 1:26-28. In Genius 2:7 God takes the spirit that was created in his image and likeness and placed it in an earth suit, a body.

When we die this earth suit will go back to the dust from which it came, but the spirit, the most important part, the part on the inside, will live on forever!

Ecclesiastes 12:6-7 MSG Life, lovely while it lasts, is soon over. Life as we know it, precious and beautiful, ends. (7) The body is put back in the same ground it came from. The spirit returns to God, who first breathed it.
