Jesus said that we are to ''deny self''. One aspect of this truth that we fail to see is that denying self is God's way of negating or undoing the illusion of self that our minds have created. This lead us to the spiritual realization that we are not our experiences, what we think, feel, or possesse. Why? Ego's Motivation

The motivation of ego is always manifested in the need for power, attention, & the need for more. Egos most destructive manifestion is the need to feel a sense of separation, which leads to a need for opposition & enemies. With this understanding the can see why christians & christian leaders have to guard our hearts with all diligence. Be honest with yourself. We all deal with ego on some level. The practice of just noticing then submitting the thought to God has the power to eradicate ego.

Choose Carfully

Be careful in choosing the battles you fight. When you make it your mission to ''eradicate evil'' in others you can unconsciously become the thing you fight against. You can never really win against anything you war against. The answer to peace is to see yourself first, then seek to understand so you can be understood.

Suffering

Suffering is always the result of mental disharmony. Sufferings sole purpose is purification. There is no need to burn gold that is pure! Suffering is always the effect of wrong thought. We don't get what we pray for as much as what our secret thoughts are in agreement with. If you habor thoughts of ill will toward others most likely you will have to experience the pain you wish for them in your on life many times over.

Nothing ever stay the same. It is really almost insane to think that things will remain changeless. The reason this truth is so important is it helps us avoid attachment, which is the source of all pain. If you realize that all things will and are changing, then you will understand there is nothing on earth worth trying to hold on to or find you identify. Love them like they will be with you forever, but hold on like they could leave you tomorrow.
