Jesus said that we are to ''deny self''. One aspect of this truth that we fail to see is that denying self is God's way of negating or undoing the illusion of self that our minds have created. This lead us to the spiritual realization that we are not our experiences, what we think, feel, or possesse. Why? Because all these things are temperal & we are eternal spirits, created in the image of God. When we die to self it should cause up to lose identification with the labels, images & definitions we have given ourselves that block all true relationship with other.
